Donald Powell - Author/Scribbler
Author Bio
Don Powell was Born in 1961 in Sacramento, California. His Passion for Drawing Goes Back to Kindergarten Where His Desk Was a Canvas for Scribbles of Comic Book Characters Like Iron Man, Thor, and the Flash.
At 13, Living in Long Beach, California, and Attending an All-White School, Don became Intrigued With the Vibrancy, Pride, and Distinctiveness of His Soul Brothers and Sisters, and the Scribblings of His Comic Book Characters Soon Evolved to the Vivid, Personal, and Intricate Illustrations of, ”A Black Thang.”
Serving as a Testament to Don’s Life as the Eldest of Eight and Father of Four, Don’s Core Values are Faith and Family. And When He’s Not Penciling Life and Soul into His Images, He Can Almost Always be Found Looking for a Reason to Laugh, or Wreaking Havoc With His Eleven GrandKids, and Ruining Appetites by Giving Them Candy When their Parents Aren’t Looking.
